Welcome to nerd1creations!

This space will be used to consolidate all of my custom projects that I work on. I will show work in progress as well as completed projects. I do a little bit of a lot of things including but not limited to customizing toys and designing custom add on's for card and board games. Please feel free to contact me about any of my projects of if you have an idea or would like to commission me to create something for you.

Marvel Universe Ultimate's Nick Fury

So I picked up the Toys R Us exclusive Fury of combat set a while ago and HATED the jacket that came with Nick Fury so I started looking into a better jacket for him and thought that the ROC Paris Pursuit Snake Eyes jacket would suffice with some modding.

Everything is the stock figure except for the jacket and arms which are from the ROC Paris Pursuit Snake Eyes. I cut the hood off and reshaped the collar. I was going to cut the jacket strap off but actually like the look of it. I was also going to paint it but like the way it ended up looking in the stock color.

GI Joe Tollbooth sledge hammer

6/18/11 - Project Completed

I did the detail painting to give the hammer a weathered look tonight. I used 4 different shades of silver and a hint of black for the hammer head. I created a custom wash using brown and gold of all colors for the handle.... I may end up going back and touching it up some more. I will have to examine it more after the paint fully sets.

6/14/11 - Project Started

I was recently commissioned by a forum member sbartek1974 to create an updated weapon for Toll Booth. I wanted to make it in 1/18 scale of a 20lb sledge hammer.

Here is the work in progress.

GI Joe Road Pig custom cinder block on a stick weapon Complete

6/15/11 - Project Completed

Here is the G.I. Joe updated Road Pig cinder block on a stick that I was commissioned to do. I love the way this turned out and so does my client. Here is what he had to say

6/11/11 - Project start

I was recently commissioned by a forum member sbartek1974 to create an updated weapon for Road Pig.

Here is a picture of the vintage Road Pig weapon

Here is the rough sketch of the cinder block

This is the first build with styrene

This is after some basic shaping

Here is the prelim "stick" I went with a baseball bat look

This is it all put together

He decided that he wanted battle damage to the cinder block so here is the prelim sketches of the damage.

Here is the first pass at creating the weathered and damaged look as well as adding the texture to the weapon.

Marvel Universe Age of Apocalypse Wolverine (Weapon X)

 6/7/11 - Project Completed

I was finally able to finish this custom! It has been a long time in the making. I had originally started sculpting the head myself for him but went the route of commissioning a custom head sculpt from an artist who goes by the name of Raginspoon and I am GLAD that I did.

  • I took the target exclusive 2 pack and made his legs shorter, cut off all the leg "wings" and sculpted the legs a little.
  • Cut off the claws and scratch built the replacement claws out of styrene.
  • Scratch build both of the stump caps from styrene.
  • Scratch built the X Lego on his belt.
  • Fully primed, painted, and sealed this guy. The pictures really do not do the figure justice at all!

5/8/11 - Project Update

I primed the custom head that I sculpted for Wolverine and it really shows the details but also shows some of the flaws, I will attempt to rework it a little and smooth out the cheek transition.

5/5/11 - Project Start

I am tired of all the MU wolverines that have been released and they have yet to release the AoA Weapon X. Here is my version that I am currently working on. I try to push myself to modify a figure in order to get the results that I want instead of swapping parts whenever I can.

Here is the base figure that I started with, its a Target exclusive 2 pack Wolverine.

First thing I did was get all my reference material and make a easy to print collection shot.

So far I have created two different "stumps" one without claws that are shown in most of the comics and one with claws that are only shown in the last issue. I have shaved down the boots to get rid of the wings or whatever you want to call them. I cut the legs off and maid them shorter, MU has never been good at making him a shorter character. I replaced the really lame claws that came with the figure. They are quite long because in the comic they look like they are slightly longer than his for arm.

I commissioned a custom head sculpt from a hisstank.com forum member because I feel that he could do a better job but I am also giving a shot myself. This is my first sculpting job, I used green stuff to make it.

This figure will eventually be primed painted and I am leaning towards using decals for the red bits on his uniform. If this figure turns out well I would like to release it as a limited run figure complete with a custom card or box created by PrimulArchangel boxes. If you are interested please let me know.
