Custom 1/18 scale crowbar

Project completed 11/2/13

I finished this a while a ago be never updated the post. This was finished using acrylic paints and then clear coated with a gloss finish. I did not want a weathered look but more of a brand new look for this piece.
 Project start 6/21/11

The other night I was thinking about what non traditional weapons I could make in 1/18 scale and a crowbar popped into my head so I decided to make one. This is the second one that I made, the first one is not worth posting.

Zelda Golden Nunchuck

As soon as I picked up the limited edition Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword golden wii remote.

I knew that I had to do something with the boring white nunchuck that I had.

I started by creating a 3D Triforce to go on the Nunchuck right in the spot where it would not be in the way of your thumb. Then I painted it a custom shade of gold.

I still want to do another coat or 2 of gold and a clear coat. Not sure If I want to go high gloss, matte or dull coat though. I will figure it out eventually.

GI Joe scale Tire Iron WIP

Well I was finally able to start this project and it has been a B**CH. I normally like to stay at true 1/18 scale for my scratch built weapons but to get the detail of the hex heads I had to make it a bit bigger than scale. It has been a pain to get the socket heads the right internal shape but I think they are coming out nicely. Each of the 4 sockets will be a different size when this is complete. This will be a 4 way tire iron.

Here is the first pics of the build

Finally was able to put it together and prime it. After priming I think that I have some more shaping and sanding to do.

Transformers Dark of the Moon Megatron fusion cannon upgrade

7/10/11 - Project update

Here is all the detailing that I did to the cannon and the first round of priming.

6/22/11 - Project started

First I feel that I should point out that for the most part I HATE the movie toys. They are not nice to look at in my opinion. That being said I actually do like the voyager class Megatron, I feel that he is the best rendition of Megatron in the movie verse to date. I did however think that he needed a better looking fusion cannon so here is the work in progress of the cannon. :-D

GI Joe Tollbooth sledge hammer

6/18/11 - Project Completed

I did the detail painting to give the hammer a weathered look tonight. I used 4 different shades of silver and a hint of black for the hammer head. I created a custom wash using brown and gold of all colors for the handle.... I may end up going back and touching it up some more. I will have to examine it more after the paint fully sets.

6/14/11 - Project Started

I was recently commissioned by a forum member sbartek1974 to create an updated weapon for Toll Booth. I wanted to make it in 1/18 scale of a 20lb sledge hammer.

Here is the work in progress.

GI Joe Road Pig custom cinder block on a stick weapon Complete

6/15/11 - Project Completed

Here is the G.I. Joe updated Road Pig cinder block on a stick that I was commissioned to do. I love the way this turned out and so does my client. Here is what he had to say

6/11/11 - Project start

I was recently commissioned by a forum member sbartek1974 to create an updated weapon for Road Pig.

Here is a picture of the vintage Road Pig weapon

Here is the rough sketch of the cinder block

This is the first build with styrene

This is after some basic shaping

Here is the prelim "stick" I went with a baseball bat look

This is it all put together

He decided that he wanted battle damage to the cinder block so here is the prelim sketches of the damage.

Here is the first pass at creating the weathered and damaged look as well as adding the texture to the weapon.
